I have been to Venice. I have arrived by boat across the lagoon with the fabulous view of the city, sat in Florian’s drinking coffee, had a Bellini in Harry’s Bar.
I have admired the art and the buildings, sat in Peggy Guggenheim’s garden and got lost in little alleyways hoping not to come across a small figure in a red cloak.
I have read Thomas Mann but not enough Byron, Ruskin or Proust.
These images were taken while visiting for the Biennale, a friend had a film showing and I had other personal interests in being there.
Yahon Chang allowed me to photograph his temporary installation – a beautiful exploration of his journey to spiritual realisation.
The other image is of an anonymous temporary installation near my apartment.
